Golden Week holidays
We are now in the April-May holidays: this means that the only days this week that the Post Office is operating are Tuesday 30 April to Thursday 2 May. Normal operation starts again on Tuesday 7 May.
Jigsaw puzzles from Japan
Scroll puzzles
There is a rich tradition in Japan, as well as other parts of east Asia, of scroll paintings: vertical hanging pictures, which can be rolled up for storage. And now we have a selection of puzzles in this format! The usual format for a puzzle is either landscape or portrait, with the sides in the ratio of 3:2 or thereabouts; there have always been some panorama puzzles with an aspect ratio around 3:1, but very few in the vertical aspect. (And it was a struggle to think of a more appropriate name than "vertical panorama"!)
